The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.
Responsible for CT simulation of patients.
Schedules patients for treatment in ARIA to optimize department efficiency and patient convenience.
Assesses the patient treatment port prior to initiation of treatment, according to department policy and procedure.
May assist in special procedures including Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
Completes documentation of patient treatment in ARIA. Enters simulation set-up instructions and other pertinent information in ARIA.
Responsible for on-call coverage for nights and weekends on a rotating basis.
Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
Certification OR degree required.
Must be currently certified and registered in Radiation Therapy with the ARRT.
