1. Directs program development and strategic planning by formulating, implementing and sustaining new business development strategies. Evaluates and develops programs for each service line. Analyzes market strengths / weaknesses of current programs. Identifies opportunities for service line expansion, promotes growth in established and new service areas and attracting new referrals. 2. Responsible for preparation of the annual budget, after evaluating trends and consulting with division managers, radiologist and the medical staff; and for overall department material needs, mechanical contractors, personnel, merit evaluation, new or modified equipment, and revenue increases as recommended to the administrative staff. Develops cost-effective programs to ensure budget is met. Maintains a well integrated system for results reporting and appropriate billing of associated procedures. 3. Conducts frequent inspection and observation of Radiology Services facilities and operations todetermine the effectiveness of operations and to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, policies and procedures. This position reviews QA/PI initiatives to assure patient care and standard of practice. 4. Overall responsibility of staff performance level in accordance with quality standards in local, state, federal and Joint Commission requirements. 5. Reviews department and staff performance in relation to established goals, implements change to effect continual improvement in services provided, and ensures compliance with all internal and external standards as well as regulatory and legal requirements. The System Service Line Administrator shall review the budget history and to evaluate the departmental course regarding the overall budget for the Department; the Senior Vice President shall be consulted as appropriate relative to budgetary status. 6. Takes action to resolve or improve deficient operational conditions or problems, changes in work pattern, personnel and patients, Radiology Services problems initiated by the medical staff for corrective action; provides assistance in the recruitment of personnel and their selection and appointment; reviews and recommends merit increases, promotions, demotions, discipline, hiring and terminations. 7. Provides clinical and administrative oversight to the Regional facilities within Vidant Health. 8. Key Responsibilities include: a. Enhances the Standard/Quality of Care (Shares Best Practice). b. Leverages economies of scale and scope. c. Promotes strategic centralization based on function. d. Leverages employees' time and talents. e. Increases care coordination. f. Leverages capital investments (capital equipment planning & management ). g. Promotes policy & procedure standardization. h. Enhances performance in accreditation preparation, compliance, and other similar areas. i. Communicates with VMC, VCOM, and VMG leadership on reguarly scheduled basis. 9. Serves as advisor, liaison and/or educator to other system-wide Imaging Departments and associated personnel, radiologists and administration.
