Responsible for the efficient and orderly administration of daily operations of the practice.
Manage, direct and oversee all administrative, technical and operational aspects and activities of the practice.
Represents Practice and interacts with radiologists, hospital administrative personnel, referring physician’s offices, patients, regulatory agencies, equipment vendors, insurance agents, billing company and other professional and community groups.
Actualizes initiatives set for by the President and the group.
Meets weekly with the President to discuss issues.
Participates in weekly conference call with the President and Billing Company Manager.
Delegates responsibilities commensurate with authority to various staff, but retains overall responsibility and accountability for administrative performance of the practice. Develops and recommends improved management techniques and practices to the President. Coaches and provides feedback to Imaging Center Managers and other direct reports.
Prepares and maintains employee policies, procedures, and handbook as well as personnel benefit and payroll records in conjunction with management.
Acts as the Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer to implement, administer and maintain effective programs. Develops and maintains policies and procedures to comply with OSHA, Hipaa, Corporate Compliance, Federal programs, QA/QC functions, managed care contracts, licensing bureaus, accreditation agencies and other programs as they apply to medical imaging.
Possess working knowledge of billing and coding and implements and monitors systems and controls to ensure appropriate billing practices
Resolves operational problems and keeps lines of communication open with technical personnel and practice administrative staff to ensure high practice productivity.
Manages facility operation, upkeep, supply inventory, service and support systems for equipment, maintenance, security and contracted services to maximize use, to respond to and resolve issues and promote efficient patient throughput on a daily basis.
Maintains the highest standard of confidentiality of patient, practice, and employee information.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Three years management experience in a multi-modality diagnostic imaging center or hospital radiology department with a minimum of two years personnel management experience, including hiring, developing, training and performance management of medical imaging personnel. Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business or Radiology or equivalent experience with demonstrated expertise in imaging center management. Experience and training as a radiological technologist preferred but not required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Working knowledge of RIS/PACS administration and data management; good problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to use PC and office equipment; proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel; good attention to detail and time management skills.
