The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking applicants for a full time Abdominal Imaging Radiologist. This is a faculty position that reports to the Department Chair. The successful candidate will become a member of the Abdominal Radiology Section and will provide primary diagnostic and consultative service in Abdominal and Oncologic Imaging (General/Fluoro, CT, MRI, US) for exams performed at multiple locations. Section members typically rotate at our NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and participate in face-to-face clinical consultations, tumor boards and multidisciplinary conferences. All faculty are responsible for teaching and overseeing diagnostic radiology residents, fellows, and medical students. Most daily clinical assignments will involve direct resident supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research and publications staff.
Successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations. The candidate must be ABR board certified or board eligible and have experience in Abdominal or Body Imaging. Candidates who have completed an Abdominal Imaging or Body fellowship are preferred, and willingness and experience in another related area of specialty (i.e. Cardiothoracic, Nuclear Medicine, etc.) would be beneficial. Optimal candidates will have scholarly experience and interest.
The Department of Radiology provides services for the UNM Hospital which is a 580-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center; the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center; the 71-bed Sandoval Regional Medical Center; and the 320-bed Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley with stunning natural beauty.
