| Responsible for safe handling of equipment and images. |
| Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or CT examinations. |
| Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure. |
| Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiographs for a variety of examinations. |
| Assists in maintaining files, basic records, images and reports |
| Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel. |
| Prepares room with anticipated equipment, supplies and instruments. |
| Maintains knowledge about radiology imaging equipment including computed radiography, digital radiography and PACs(Picture Archiving and communications system) |
| Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. |
| Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. |
| Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. |
| Possesses and utilizes aseptic technique during invasive procedures. |
| Takes call on a rotating basis for Holidays, Vacations, Weekends, Week days and Sick calls. |
| Demonstrates computer skills for documenting the patient record. |
| Is familiar with and maintains both departmental and procedural supplies. |
| Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed. |
| Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc. |
| Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed orders; documents and diagnosis. |
| Interacts professionally with staff, patients and family. |
| Demonstrates proper use of all CT related equipment to meet established protocols. (1) CT scanner s (2) Independent Workstations (3) Patient Monitoring Equipment (4) PAC's, Archiving and Teleradiology (5) Power Injectors (6) Exam related supplies. |
| Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's instruction. |
