The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist serves as the Assistant PACS Technologist for the Memphis VA Radiology Service. Primary responsibility is to evaluate and report compliance with quality standards and regulations within the radiology and nuclear medicine sections. The position will serve as the first level support to system users and assist the PACS administrator with application issues and instructs users in the proper operation of digital image processing, storage, and display systems. Duties involve responsibility for a broad range of activities surrounding the integration and utilization of comprehensive, standardized, continuous health care and preventive health services within the context of an automated system. Other duties include but are not limited to the following: Assist with implementation processes within the Medical Center related to efficient operations of the clinical areas, data validation, and files and training. Monitor and support voice recognition system daily. Assist in sending and receiving of PACS DICOM digital x-ray images. Responsible for developing the means to extract data from PACS and VISTA packages and for presenting in an appropriate format. Perform analysis of existing data collection and processes and makes implementation of these recommendations. Provide back-up support to other sections of the Radiology Department as required. Advanced certification by ARRT in MRI or CT is highly desired. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Tour may vary. On Call required. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
