Penn State Health - Milton S Hershey Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Dietitian II in our Vine Street, Middletown PA clinic. This professional will be working with patients involved with weight loss, both medical and surgical, with an emphasis on surgical preparation and post-op care of bariatric patients.
This dietitian will be responsible for providing leadership in establishing standards of practice for nutritional care and serving as a consultant to clinical dietitians, physicians, and other health professionals. They will be providing direct patient care and be responsible for needs assessment, program development and evaluation, in-service education, medical staff education and nutrition research. This is a fulltime, day shift, exempt position.
Responsible for the development, coordination, and evaluation of nutritional care programs
Interprets and utilizes current nutrition research recommendations for nutritional care of patients
Participation as a consultant in multidisciplinary team meetings and physician rounds
Assesses departmental needs regarding in-service and continuing education and makes recommendations; develops educational materials
Provides individualized nutritional care for patients with complex medical-surgical problems
Supervises and educates staff assigned to patient care and graduate nutrition students
Serves as clinical nutrition consultant to physicians and clinical dietitians for management of patients with complex nutritional and metabolic problems
Master’s degree plus two years’ of experience or, Bachelor’s degree with an additional job-related specialty certification plus seven years’ of experience
Registered Dietitian (AND) or registry eligible
Pennsylvania Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist
