As board-certified Nephrologist, diagnose causes and levels of kidney failure, prescribe appropriate treatment and manage ongoing care. Deliver professional services in inpatient and outpatient settings. Treat acute renal failure and chronic kidney disease.
Serve as the attending of record, managing all aspects of patient care in addition to an inpatient Nephrology consult service. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as required. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Committees. Responsibilities for general outpatient nephrology needs include Nephrology clinic, management of hemodialysis (in-center and home) and peritoneal dialysis patients. Apply extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosis and management of kidney failure, electrolytes and acid base abnormalities, hypertension, glomerulonephritis and tubulo-interstitial diseases of the kidney, and kidney transplantation.
Provide treatment of end stage renal disease (ESRD). Manage continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), continuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD), and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF). Prescribe and manage plasmapharesis, leukapheresis. Responsible for shared evening and weekend call for nephrology problems. Travel to locations within commuting distance when on call, to cover rounds, or as needed for vacation and holiday coverage.
