Single departmental function supervision and/or shift supervision in accordance with hospital policy. Responsible for the daily administration of tasks, scheduling and problem solving related to assigned areas. Assists Facility Services employees with position responsibilities and review of completed projects ensuring quality and promptness of service. Monitors the departmentâ��s computerized Preventive Maintenance program. Assists the Director with administration of department functions and assumes responsibility in Directorâ��s absence. Assists with selection of new employees, employee evaluations, disciplinary action, and resolving employee issues. Position is responsible for collecting data for budgeting, approving timekeeping, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning.
Performs supervision of department employees and provides input on performance issues.
Assists the Director in the daily departmental operations utilizing constructive input.
Assists in the development and maintenance of the environment of care documentation as per directorâ��s instructions. Provides director with daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested.
May function as the hospital Fire Marshall overseeing the fire-fighting equipment; conducting monthly checks of fire extinguishers, quarterly fire drills, quarterly testing of smoke detectors, pull stations and automatic sprinkler system.
Supervises the inventory of tools, materials and ready stock items.
Operates and maintains plant equipment and auxiliaries, include the department computer systems.
Maintains a professional demeanor with all hospital staff, vendors and corporate personnel.
Directs the Preventive Maintenance schedule.
Assures maintenance and facilitates repairs of boilers and associated domestic/heating systems.
Maintains a complete security system including lock identification, key file, and automatic access codes for facility locks and equipment requiring keys. Issues keys as authorized by hospital policy and maintain records of such.
Operates as a member of the hazardous spill team.
Responsible for processing New Hire/Annual evaluations

THE MANAGER PLANT OOS FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma, GED or equivalent minimum experience requirements PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Business, or equivalent in 10 years Facilities experience; 5 years of which spent in a supervisory role
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five years in facilities; 2 years in supervisory role PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years supervisory experience
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager) SPECIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of plant operations, plumbing, painting, carpentry, maintenance and tools and materials used in the corrective and preventive maintenance of facility. Fire safety training required. Ability to read blueprints and computer skills required. Working knowledge of JCAHO and OSHA standards.
