The Histocompatibility Laboratory isseeking a Laboratory Technologist with molecular or histocompatibility experience to join their team. Our laboratory testing focuses on molecular methodologies including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), in addition to serology. Areas of innovation include development and evaluation of new clinical assays for patient-donor pre-transplant evaluation and post-transplantation monitoring.
We offer an on-the-job training program in histocompatibility allowing the opportunity to apply for a New York State Histocompatibility restricted license.
Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work in the Histocompatibility Laboratory to support the hospital's Hematopoietic Stem Cell and Bone Marrow transplantation program. Testing includes DNA extraction, PCR, HLA typing by NGS, engraftment monitoringby NGS,KIR typing, and HLA antibody screening.
Interpret molecular data for patient and donor testing.
Have the opportunity to assist with the development and evaluation of new clinical assays for patient-donor pre-transplant evaluation and post-transplantation monitoring.
Contribute to translational research projects.
Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the Laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures
