Imaging position at Emory University

A postdoctoral or research scientist position is available at the Emory University School of Medicine to study biophysics of enveloped virus entry into cells and its antagonism by host restriction factors. Our group applies quantitative microscopy techniques, such as single particle/molecule imaging, TIRF, FCS and super-resolution microscopy (dSTORM, PALM, STED), to delineate key steps of virus entry and virus-cell interactions. We are also implementing correlative light-cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) to gain structural insights into virus entry intermediates. Highly motivated individuals holding a Ph.D. degree in biophysics, cell biology or related areas are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of fluorescence microscopy techniques and image analysis software is preferred. Emory University provides excellent training and collaborative environment for cutting-edge research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
