Position Summary

This position provides occupational or physical therapy services with emphasis on the upper limb to a pediatric population, from infant through adolescence/young adulthood, specific to age and developmental/functional level determined by assessment. Performs evaluation, program planning, and treatment of patients who have a variety of diagnoses involving the upper limb, which includes the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder girdle. Implements patient’s plan of care using treatment modalities including but not limited to: exercise, mobilization, splinting, taping, heat/cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound as prescribed by a physician.

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy OR Physical Therapy program. (Required)

Experience

• Pediatric experience (Preferred)
• Ortho, neuro, developmental pediatric experience (Preferred)
• Splinting/hand therapy experience (Required)

Certifications

• Current State of Arizona Occupational Therapist OR Physical Therapist license, prior to start date. (Required)
• Current Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) OR current State of Arizona Physical Therapist license, prior to start date. (Required)
• Current AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card, prior to start date. (Required)
• Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association, prior to start date. (Required)
• Current Certified Hand Therapist through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. (Required)

Special Skills

• Specialty training in Sensory Integration, NDT, taping, and other relevant Pediatric areas. (Preferred)
