In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment.

The work schedule for this position will be third shift, Monday-Friday, 10:30pm-7am.This position is eligible for a 15% shift differential for 3rd shift.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
• Minimum 4+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Sr. Technologist level
• ASCP or AMT or ACHI certification is preferred
• Demonstrated success in clinical testing technical proficiency and scientific knowledge
• Advance knowledge and understanding of specific laboratory and/or department functions
• Ability to exercise judgement to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
• Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors or unusual results
• Provide guidance to technical staff with the analysis and interpretation of final results
• Perform new test procedures and/or methods and provide feedback based on your findings
• Assist with training and orientation of new employees as needed
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
