Texas Oncology is excited to announce the opportunity for a full-time, vibrant, team-oriented Medical Physicist to join our group of four radiation oncology centers located in the San Antonio, TX region.
Facilities, Equipment, and Team:
While operationally independent day-to-day, each center collaborates as four fully-staffed, Texas Oncology clinics in the local and surrounding San Antonio area (San Antonio and New Braunfels), through sharing of a common single database for record and verify (ARIA), Eclipse treatment planning (conventional and SBRT), 2nd check program (Radcalc), Profiler2, MapCheck2, ATLAS, and the SNC 3D scanning system. Collectively, four Varian linear accelerators (C-Series, VitalBeam, TrueBeam), a Nucletron HDR Afterloader system, four CT scanners (GE, Siemens), and a mobile PETCT scanner (GE) are used to treat an average of 140 patients a day.
The region currently consists of 4 radiation oncologists, 1 Chief Physicist, 3 staff physicists, 1 Chief Dosimetrist/Radiation Therapist, 4 medical dosimetrists, 10 radiation therapists, and 4 lead therapists.

Responsibilities: Duties will include:
Full range of on-site clinical medical physics support at your primary clinic
Occasional on-site physics support for sites within the San Antonio region
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in Medical physics from an accredited college or university
Board certification or board eligibility in therapy physics by the ABR
A valid Texas state license
2+ years of experience
A working knowledge of SRS, SBRT, and HDR
Experience with Varian linear accelerators
Strong organization and oral/written communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Eclipse
HDR planning and treatment
MOSAIQ
SBRT and SRS procedures

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to utilize components of the treatment-planning computer including but not limited to the use of keyboards, digitizers, trackball and mouse controls. Must be able to stand for 8 hours; lift 40 pound block to shoulder level; have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish structures and isodose displays on computer monitor. Additionally, must be able to align treatment field and monitor patient during radiation therapy treatment.
