JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Provider Support Assistant to perform administrative responsibilities in support of one or more physician(s) and/or advanced provider(s).
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Retrieval of all new patients at all clinic locations that were scheduled prior to 72 hours of appointment time
Review clinic patient lists to ensure records are available to the provider prior to clinic, including consult notes, lab results, images, slides etc.
Order outside records
Obtain records from the referring physician's office
Obtain medical records release form from patient
Request images and submit orders to PACS
Route all notes to patient care team
Request records on returning patients that have been seen elsewhere since last visit, ED, UC etc.
Review provider schedules to ensure appropriateness of visit including correct appointment slot and review for overbooking
Submit Schedule inquiries to Hub for incorrect scheduling of patients.
Coordinate with patient and infusion centers to schedule infusions and physician appointments appropriately
Coordinate lab appointments and other needed results with patients prior to return visits
Coordinate bone density appointments and results prior to physician appointments
Coordinate Thyrogen injections as needed** (not currently supported)
Coordinate pituitary appointments to coincide with surgery appointments (Dr. Codd)
Manage Divisional provider wait lists
Schedule all E-Consults for Endocrinology
Retrieve images for all new patient appointments for all locations (currently includes Cancer Center)
Provide back-up support as needed to "on-site" staff assistants performing patient support tasks in clinics
Above tasks include, answering patent calls, receiving and routing patient faxes, review provider schedules to ensure compliance with divisional standards, ensure appropriateness of patient visits, follow up communication with patients
Administrative staff that backs up all admin positions when staff is out on vacation, sick, etc.
When all admin staff is in:
Assists at each clinic location 1 day per week to support admin on busy days
Assists with record retrieval/referral 2 days per week
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
One-year experience of clerical or general office support required.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
