MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

• Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to perform adult and pediatric cardiac ultrasound. Completion of a minimum of an Associates in Science Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or registered or registry eligible by either Cardiology Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Certification in Basic Life Support.
• The employee in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the age of the patients served. He/she must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the necessary care as described in the department's policies and procedures

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands

• Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
• Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice.
• Must be able to accurately document pertinent information either by writing or typing. Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
• Must be able to distinguish colors.
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
• Must have good eye-hand-foot coordination.
• Must have good manual dexterity.
• Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
