Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty physician to join our team. Rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) and track will be determined by the candidate?s qualifications and career focus. The ideal candidate will have:
Board certification (or eligibility) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Outstanding clinical skills in pediatric emergency care within a high-volume, tertiary academic center.
A commitment to teaching: medical students, pediatric residents, emergency medicine residents, and PEM fellows.
An interest in advancing an academic portfolio-whether through education scholarship, quality & safety, simulation, global health, ultrasound, EMS/trauma, or clinical research.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities include:
Clinical coverage in the pediatric emergency department
Active involvement in the educational mission: teaching rounds, simulation, conferences.
Engagement in scholarly activity aligned with the candidate?s interests and the division?s priorities (e.g., QI, patient safety, educational innovation).
Participation in divisional, departmental and institutional committees/initiatives, especially as we grow toward the NC Children?s era.
Faculty mentorship and leadership opportunities will be available for those with interest.
