SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Radiology Assistant plays a critical role in supporting Radiologists, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Imaging Technologists, and other hospital staff by ensuring smooth operations within the radiology reading room. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and technical skills to manage administrative tasks, assist with imaging systems, and facilitate timely and accurate patient care. Maintaining an organized environment, supports the imaging departments by proactively resolving workflow issues for expediting imaging reads and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Provides front-line support in the Reading Room by managing and coordinating incoming calls, emails and Tiger Text communications.
- Currently monitoring the imaging worklist by verifying delays in dictation, images that may need linked or errors in transmission. Management of STAT results, relaying critical findings and hold and call results information then fax or call any critical results findings to ordering provider/drs offices.
- Document those critical findings or call results in Exam Management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- High School or equivalent
- BLS required prior to orientation completion
